Borrow a Chromebook
Mason County District Library patrons can now borrow Chromebooks for up to 3 days. A Chromebook is a small laptop that runs on Android software.
To take advantage of Curbside Service to borrow Chromebooks, library books and DVDs, we ask that you make requests, when possible, through our online catalog. Start at the Mason County District Library Website http://www.masoncounty.lib.mi.us/. Go to the My Account Login tab to find our catalog. Once on the catalog page you will need to login at top left corner to make a request.
You will need your library card number and pin in order to make requests. You can email firstname.lastname@example.org if you do not know your library card number and pin. Once you are logged in you can browse/search then request an item by selecting (clicking anywhere in the line with that title) that item, then clicking the first button on the left: Reserve this item. Once you click Reserve this item a second dialog box will pop up and you will click Place reserve to complete your request. You will then be able to see if the item is available, or checked out and if other people have already placed requests.
After you have made your request, Library staff will notify you when your items, printouts, or copies are ready for pickup. When you arrive at the library, please park in one of the designated Curbside Delivery parking spots. Then simply call 231-843-8465 in Ludington, 231-757-2588 in Scottville, or text Gabbie, the library’s messaging service, at 231-244-1128. Library staff will then deliver your items to your car. Open hours for Curbside Delivery are 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday hours are 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
