Thoughtful Streaming Entertainment

Mason County District Library is delighted to launch Kanopy! Kanopy is a movie streaming service that Mason County District Library is providing for its patrons. You can create your account by going to https://mcdlibrary.kanopy.com/, clicking Add Library Card, and entering your library card number and PIN/password. You will be asked to create and account which does require an email address.

Many films on Kanopy, including from iconic film companies such as A24, Criterion Collection, Paramount, PBS, and Kino Lorber, are unavailable elsewhere. The Kanopy app is available on iOS and Android along with all major streaming devices, including Roku, Apple TV, iOS, Android, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Samsung Smart TV, and Chromecast. 

Also, check out Kanopy Kids category for child-safe entertainment that stimulates imagination and promotes learning. Kanopy Kids features unlimited plays, and Parental Controls.

Mason County District Library has just added nearly 30,000 movies and other videos that inspire, educate and entertain, from Kanopy. Free to cardholders, Kanopy’s unique selection offers something for everyone, from award winning indie films to important and timely documentaries, to foreign films, popular cinema, children’s shows and more.  

Many of Kanopy’s videos are not available on Netflix or any other streaming video platform, and the experience is easy-to-use and completely advertisement free. All you need is your library card, your library PIN/password, and an email address.
