Library Pandemic Reopening Plan
Mason County District Library takes the health and safety of our patrons and staff very seriously. We are dedicated to providing library services in a safe and responsible manner. In support of this goal, library staff will wear masks while inside the buildings at Ludington and Scottville; including while handling your library materials. Incoming materials will be quarantined for at least 24 hours, as recommended by the CDC and the American Library Association. All surfaces and commonly touched items will be cleaned and disinfected regularly. Staff will wash hands frequently and thoroughly.
Curbside service will begin June 15.
Other services will begin as soon as safety permits. To take advantage of Curbside Service, we ask that you make requests through our online catalog at www.masoncounty.lib.mi.us. At this time, we can only accept requests made through the online catalog. We will make instructions available on the website when we are ready to begin taking requests. You will need your library card number and pin in order to make requests. You can email firstname.lastname@example.org if you do not know your library card number and pin. After you have made your request, Library staff will notify you when your items are ready for pickup. When you arrive at the library, simply call 231-843-8465 in Ludington, 231-757-2588 in Scottville. Or, text Gabbie, the library’s messaging service, at 231-244-1128 and tell us if you are at the Ludington or the Scottville Library. Library staff will then deliver your items to your car. Open hours for Curbside Delivery are 11:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday.
The Imagine Your Story Summer Reading Program begins June 15! We are preparing an online program, contact free paper program, and summer events, activities and scavenger hunts to be accessed online and contact free. Watch our website and Facebook page for more information.
