Library Pandemic Reopening Plan

Mason County District Library takes the health and safety of our patrons and staff very seriously. We are dedicated to providing library services in a safe and responsible manner. In support of this goal, library staff will wear masks while inside the buildings at Ludington and Scottville, including while handling your library materials. Incoming materials will be quarantined for at least 24 hours, as recommended by the CDC and the American Library Association.  All surfaces and commonly touched items will be cleaned and disinfected several times throughout the day. Staff will wash hands frequently and thoroughly. MeLCat (interlibrary loan) delivery service is suspended for now. We will update you when they are ready to resume this service. Due to safety concerns, we are unable to accept donations of books, DVDs, or other materials and supplies at this time.

Curbside service will begin in June, exact date to be determined. We will make instructions available on the website when we are ready to begin taking requests. Other services will resume as public health concerns permit. Conscientious public use of the library buildings will resume with safety in mind. Mason County District Library appreciates your patience as we work through safety procedures and novel methods of providing library service during this pandemic.

Speaking of novel methods, the Imagine Your Story Summer Reading Program begins June 5! We are preparing an online program, contact free paper program, and summer events, activities and scavenger hunts to be accessed online and contact free. Watch our website and Facebook page for more information.
