Racial Equity Book Club
This book club welcomes all interested persons. Meetings are on the 4th Wednesdays of the month at 11 am and 6 pm, with in-person and online options available. Books alternate between fiction and nonfiction each month, and members suggest and vote on upcoming selections.
The October meetings are on Wednesday, October 28th – 11 am and 6 pm. For October, the REBC will be discussing Our Kids by Robert Putnam. Professor of Sociology, Dr. Erwin Selimos of West Shore Community College, will be leading the discussion. You can join either in person at the Ludington Library or via Zoom.
Mason County District Library’s Racial Equity Book Club is led by Ludington Library staff member, Thomas Trahey. Email email@example.com to join. Thomas will email with more information, plus the meeting details of how to join online and which meeting room will be used in the Ludington Library. Members can participate either via Zoom or in person on the 4th Wednesdays of the month.
The Racial Equity Book Club is one of several activities planned for 2021 by Engaging for Equity, a collaborative of the Manistee Area Racial Justice and Diversity Initiative (MARJDI), West Shore Community College, and Mason County District Library. Events will take place in Manistee and Mason Counties throughout the year.
