Red Sand Project – Teens
Teens in grades 6 through 12 are invited on September 19th from 6:00 – 7:30 pm, be a part of the RED SAND PROJECT. Join us to remember those who have fallen through the cracks of human trafficking. We will be leaving the library to go downtown and fill sidewalk cracks with Red Sand.
Today, 40.3 million people are enslaved. Red Sand Project invites you to question, to connect, and to take action against vulnerabilities that can lead to exploitation. The most vulnerable people in our communities carry the greatest risk of losing their freedom, and the process of filling sidewalk cracks with sand requires you to be mindful of something that is usually overlooked. The simple act of placing sand in a crack or posting a photo on social media may seem inconsequential, but small actions can build on each other to make transformational change. With a up a packet of Red Sand, fill a sidewalk crack with red sand, take a photo and share using #RedSandProject.
All MCDL events are free.
