“Whose Streets?” POV film in Ludington
The public is invited to view the POV film “Whose Streets?” by Sabaah Folayan & Damon Davis, Monday, November 19, 6:00 pm at the Ludington Library.
“Whose Streets?” is an unflinching look at the Ferguson, Missouri uprising and the youth-driven movement it energized. Michael Brown, an unarmed teenager, is killed by Ferguson police and left in the street for hours. His death ignited a local and national outcry.
“Whose Streets?” follows the young activists in Ferguson who risk their lives in the #BlackLivesMatter movement. Police escalation and the non-indictment of Darren Wilson unite the Ferguson community to fight for racial justice and fair policing policies.
This event is a collaboration with POV, PBS’ award-winning nonfiction film series. View a trailer at http://www.pbs.org/pov/whosestreets/. This event is free and open to the public.
