Children’s Events & Programs

Our regularly scheduled children’s programs are highlighted below. There are many more activities and events for all ages each month. See our Events Calendar for more information.

1-2-3 Rhyme with Me (Ages 0 to 3)

Children ages 0 to 3 and their caregivers are invited to participate in 123 Rhyme with Me, which meets Mondays at 10:00 a.m. Ms. Emily will lead everyone in songs and rhymes, and then stay and play! Our Ludington branch children’s area is available, plus some weeks we’ll have some Sensory play after our rhymes are done. Encourage literacy and social-emotional skills in your children with the Mason County District Library.

1-2-3 Rhyme With Me meets on Mondays in Ludington at 10 a.m.

Story Time (Preschool ages)

Ms. Tammy and Ms. Emily are in Ludington on Tuesday and Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. and in Scottville on Friday at 10:00 a.m. for Story time. We talk about the weather, sing songs, say rhymes, count, use our musical instruments, listen to a story, and have an activity. All Library activities are designed to encourage creativity, literacy, discovery, and community. Join us any day!

Creative Kids

Scottville Creative Kids activities are on Mondays and Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. We’ll have all kinds of creative art projects and games for children under age 12.

Ludington Creative Kids are on Tuesdays and Fridays from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. We will have activities, games, movies, crafts, or other fun things to do after school.

Lego Saturdays

We’re getting out the Lego (TM) bricks on Saturdays, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Join your friends in creating something amazing, build a house or boat, and enjoy the fun of making something new. Building with blocks is a fundamental part of fine motor development – so not only are we having fun, we’re building skills! Children under 8 must be supervised by an adult – especially with these small blocks.
