Cultivating Our Community Four-Part Series in Scottville

Mason County District Library will host a summer gardening series for adults. Cultivating our Community is a four-part series focused on planning, planting, preserving, and pruning fruits and vegetables, and will be held on the third Tuesday of each month from June-September, 6:00 pm at the Scottville Library, 204 E State St., Scottville.

Join us for a presentation on Planting Native Edible Shrubs in Your Home Landscape on June 18, Vegetable Gardening 101 on July 16, Canning and Processing Fruits and Vegetables on August 20, and Fruit Tree Pruning on September 17. This series is funded through a Mid Michigan Library League project grant.

To start off on June 18, Symon Cronk from the Mason-Lake Conservation District will discuss the value and potential of incorporating native fruit-bearing shrubs in our home landscapes. Weather permitting, there will be a planting demonstration on the library lawn.

We are here to help cultivate our Mason County Community. ALL Mason County District Library programs are free of charge.
