This is a flyer that describes a contest: "In honor of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the library is hosting a contest for grades 5-12 and adults to answer this question: If the Declaration of Independence could talk, what story would it tell. Responses can be an essay, poem, art, or song. Check our website for details and requirements. Prizes awarded for top 3 in each grade/age category up to $100. Grades 5-8; 9-12; adult. Entries due to Ludington or Scottville branches, or emailed to 250@mcdlibrary.org by May 22, 6:00pm. Mason County District Library.

Community Reading of the Declaration of Independence

We will join communities across Michigan and across the U.S. in a synchronized reading of the declaration, exactly 250 years after the first public reading of the document.

Wednesday, July 8th at 6pm

Recreation of the Boston Tea Party

Join us to celebrate and recreate this key event from our nation’s revolutionary history.
